Richard Page & Ella Malleau

Ella is a singer and a songwriter from Northern Ontario who started as a self-taught musician in her youth, collaborating in diverse genres within the Franco-Ontarian community. She later pursued a major in classical voice at Cambrian College, and is currently exploring jazz voice, songwriting and popular voice at Carleton University. Her approach to music prioritizes authenticity and connection with her audience, combining diverse influences and defying the confines of genre to create engaging performances.

Accompanied by Nic Code (piano), and Richard Page (saxophone and flute), she will bring music from jazz, to soul music, to pop tunes, and more!

Pimienta

Pimienta perform a spicy blend of Latin jazz that packs a rhythmic punch! For over a decade, Karen Rauh (piano), Mark Fraser (bass), and Allyson Rogers (drums) have been digging deep into the Latin jazz repertoire, pulling out overlooked gems, and adding their own flavour to Cuban and Brazilian classics. The seasoned players in this Ottawa-based group are regulars at local festivals and thrilled to add saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Mike Tremblay to the line-up. The quartet’s high-energy repertoire, innovative arrangements, and infectious grooves have been winning Pimienta rave reviews and getting audiences out of their seats.

With a musical journey that traversed the scenic landscapes of Nelson, BC, Siji honed his craft while contributing to the cultural tapestry through work with the Nelson and District Arts Council. Beyond his minimalist compositions, Siji has worked on a range of projects including short films, feature films, TV series and a compelling documentary. Come explore the serene simplicity and evocative beauty found in the diverse musical expressions of Siji Olunuga.
